Q:

Should I leave the Clark Bath Lift in the up position or down position?

A:

Always leave your Clark Bath Lift in the down position after use. Leaving it in the up position will allow air to trap in the cylinder assembly and prevent the lift from rising fully or may cause it to drop suddenly.

Q:

Does the Clark Bath Lift swivel?

A:

The Clark Bath Seat swivels out in a manual mode on the edge of the tub wall facilitating an easier transfer for independent users and Caregivers.

Q:

The Clark Bath Lift will not rise to the top; why?

A:

There may be air trapped in the cylinder. Operate the lift up and down several times to expel any air buildup. The Bath Lift should now operate properly.

Q:

The suction cups are not adhering to the base of the tub.

A:

1) The suction cup(s) might need to be replaced, as they have a limited shelf life. Once a suction cup loses its "memory" it will no longer adhere.

2) Suction cups may not completely adhere to a textured non-slip surface.

Q:

Can the Clark Bath Lift be installed without having an existing shower?

A:

Yes, you would require a tub spout with a diverter attachment (available for purchase as part #2113). This allows the flow of water to be directed to the Clark Bath Lift or bath tub.

Q:

There is water coming out of the cylinder when operating the lift.

A:

Water running out of the bottom usually indicates that the cup seal needs to be replaced.

Q:

The Clark Bath Lift is hard to swivel?

A:

There could be a build-up of calcium between the pivot shaft and the base bushing. Remove the seat assembly and carefully clean with soap and water, rinsing out all soap residue afterwards. Apply vasoline or white grease inside the bushing and to the pivot shaft. Finally, re-install the seat assembly.

Q:

How do I clean the Clark Bath Lift?

A:

Use a mild soap and wash cloth. Make sure the area around the pivot shaft is cleaned to prevent calcium build up.

Q:

Can I store the Clark Bath Lift?

A:

Yes. Make sure that you drain the water from the cylinder assembly. If you store the Clark Bath Lift for a long period of time, the rubber cup seal and rubber suction cups may have to be replaced if they become brittle.
